PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse backwasher which can apply a sufficient backwashing pressure over the entire length of a ceramic filter without increasing the initial pressure of backwashing compressed air. SOLUTION: Many backwashing nozzles 8 with their front ends opposed to one to several ceramic filters C are arranged over a plurality of the ceramic filters C with their necks supported on a supporting plate 2 in a container 1. A pipe 10 connected to the base of each backwashing nozzle 8 piercing the ceiling of the container 1 and horizontally led on the periphery of the container 1 is connected with the corresponding header pipe 19 on the periphery of the container 1 through an angle electromagnetic valve 13. By using the angle electromagnetic valves 13, it is possible to instantaneously feed a large amount of compressed air into the backwashing nozzles 8. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
