PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a used can treatment system capable of effectively cutting used cans and capable of making the size of cut pieces or pellets uniform, and a used can treatment method using the system. SOLUTION: A shredder 10 for cutting a drum can D and a granulator 30 for granulating cut pieces are provided to the used can treatment system S. The shredder 10 is provided with rotary blade parts 12 and 13 rotated in combination with blade parts 12c and 13c to cut the drum can D charged from above and auxiliary rotary blade parts 14 and 15 provided in opposed relation to the rotary blade parts 12 and 13 and rotated in the same direction as the opposed rotary blade parts 12 and 13 to energize the drum can D toward the rotary blade parts 12 and 13. Protruded parts 12a and recessed parts 12b are provided to the peripheral surfaces of the blade parts 12c, or the like. Further, a screen 16 provided with take-out holes 16a is arranged to the under surfaces of the rotary blade parts 12 and 13 and the auxiliary rotary blade parts 14 and 15.
