<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant protection device which adjusts working timing of a pretensioner and developing timing of an air bag in accordance with a collision form, and is easily manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: This occupant protection device 1 is devised to detect deceleration generated by an impact which a vehicle receives, to integrate the detected deceleration within specified time, to wind up a seat belt by the pretensioner 9 at the time when an integrated value obtained by this integration exceeds a standard value for the pretensioner and to develop the air bag 81 at the time when the integrated value exceeds a standard value for the air bag. Additionally, the standard value for the pretensioner and the standard value for the air bag are set so that the standard value for the air bag becomes higher than the standard value for the pretensioner at each time after computation starting time t0 and free to change in accordance with time after the computation starting time t0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
