PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base station capable of transferring data with high efficiency and to provide a wireless communication system. SOLUTION: In first negotiation of communication, an apparatus informs an opposite apparatus about the preamble length required for the apparatus and realizes the communication with the required minimum preamble length. Concretely, the base station apparatus discriminates the preamble length with which a personal station PS having made a link channel establish request is compatible and selects the preamble length in an information channel. When the preamble length is long, the cell station apparatus CS makes a reply of communication with the longer preamble length to the personal station apparatus PS and the negotiation is terminated. On the other hand, when the preamble length is short, the base station apparatus CS makes a reply of communication with the shorter preamble length to the personal station apparatus PS and the negotiation is terminated.
