The pipe connector has a sleeve element (138) with insertion aperture for a pipe end (8) and a claw element (128) with esp. four claws (134) to hold the pipe. The claw element has a ring-shaped radially outer ring segment (140) extending in axial direction of the pipe. The claws are formed out of the ring material and bent outwards. The ring segment has a support part (136) inclined towards the pipe. The claw element ha at least two claw rows (142) with claws in an outer row tangentially offset relative to the claws in an inner row. The sleeve element has an expansion part to widen an inserted tube end.
