PURPOSE: An automatic cover opening and closing device of a loading compartment for a truck is provided to enlarge the working space by moving the cover to the side wall automatically, semi-automatically or manually, and to transport cargo conveniently and safely by protecting articles in the rain with complete sealing. CONSTITUTION: An automatic cover opening and closing device comprises a base frame part composed of a rectangular floor in the rear part of a truck, columns(12), connecting frames and a reinforcing bar with the loading space; a cover part(20) covering the frame part; an automatic opening and closing installation member(30) mounted on the connecting frames; an automatic opening and closing unit installed in the automatic opening and closing installation member to open and close the side of the loading space; and a side wall body having a loading compartment cover(51) automatically opening and closing the side by the automatic opening and closing unit. The loading compartment cover is moved automatically, semi-automatically or manually in the side wall body, and opened to the right, the left or at both sides.
