The process involves attributing a secondary communication identifier, for personal digital assistant (PDA), different from an identifier attributed to a micro-computer. A specific connection is established between a modem (4) and a network, independent of a connection with the micro-computer. Information is transmitted by the PDA towards the network, across the modem by using secondary communication identifier. An independent claim is also included for a device of communication on a multiplexed digital information transfer network.
