PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single reel tape cartridge dissolving defective lock and defective releasing of lock by obstructing tilt of a reel pressure plate when releasing lock of the reel or locking the reel. SOLUTION: A reel 2 winding and housing a tape 3 and a reel lock mechanism locking and holding the reel 2 so that it cannot be rotated at the time of non-use are arranged inside a main body case 1, the reel lock mechanism comprises a reel pressure plate 23 guided and supported at an upper case 1a so as to slide up and down, a spring 24 energizing the reel pressure plate 23 so as to press downward, upper and lower locking teeth 25, 26 formed at the reel pressure plate 23 and the bottom wall of a reel boss. A shaft-like projection 33 lock-releasing-operated by a releasing pin 17 provided at the drive shaft of a tape drive side is provided at the lower surface of the reel pressure plate 23. A regulation hole 37 is formed in the shaft-like projection 33, tilt of the reel pressure plate 23 is controlled by the engagement with a tilt regulation shaft 21 provided at the releasing pin 17, and defective lock and defective releasing of lock can be dissolved.
