PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent image over a long term by preventing the surface of a fixing member from being partially shaved by allowing a slidable contact member to slidably come in contact with the fixing member. SOLUTION: A heating roll 74 possesses a cylindrical core 112 and a mold-released layer 116 coated through an adhesive layer 114 on the surface side of the core 112. A wear resistant overcoating layer 118 is provided at a part of the heating roll 74 including a range where a temperature sensor 104 and a cleaning member 102 slidably come in contact with. The mold-released layer 116 has the releasing property of developer and the holding property of surface potential for fixing the developer on paper which are better than those of the overcoating layer 118. The overcoating layer 118 has high hardness and heat resistance, so that the mold-released layer 116 is prevented from being shaved even though the slidable contact member slidably comes in contact with it.
