MACHINE AND METHOD FOR BUNDLING PLANT STEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine and a method for bundling plant stems. SOLUTION: This machine is structured to apply tension to a flexible band 14 between the fingers 12 of a gripper 11 which hold an item in collaboration. The flexible band 14 is held to form an opening between the fingers 12 of the gripper 11 behind a pair of rollers 10 while plant stems are being bundled. The machine transports the stems along and between the rollers 10 to be received by the band 14. After the stems are gathered, the ends of the fingers 12 are mutually brought closer for the stems in the gripper 11 to be apart from the rollers 10 and to be bundled. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
