PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regulate and use an identification material used for protecting brands or confirming authenticity without degrading hue or appearance of an article, and to prevent an article, container, or label with the identification material attached from being illegally used. SOLUTION: The minimum usage, in terms of weight which can be identified/sensed, of the identification material which can be identified/sensed by an identifying device is assumed as M<SB>min</SB>, while the additional usage in terms of weight is taken as d (d>0), and the usage M of the identification material is set to be M<SB>min</SB>+d for use. Each of split identification material of split usage in terms of weight, acquired by dividing in a plurality of numbers, at least into two, the identification material,α<SB>1</SB>,α<SB>2</SB>, toα<SB>n</SB>(M<SB>min</SB>+d=α<SB>1</SB>+α<SB>2</SB>+...+α<SB>n</SB>), is attached to the article to be identified, which is discriminated by the identifying device.
