PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the stability at the time of starting the casting using a dummy sheet in a twin drum type continuous casting device. SOLUTION: The twin drum type continuous casting device is composed of a pair of cooling drums having a function of mutually rotating in the opposite direction side weirs arranged on both ends of the upper space between a pair of the cooling drums. A pair of rolls for pressing, which clamp the dummy sheet and the two dummy sheets for the pressing for continuously clamping a thin plate shape cast slab immediately beneath the cooling drums, are provided immediately beneath a pair of the cooling drums. A pair of the rolls for the pressing have a retreat function. Also, at first the dummy sheet is clamped by using a pair of the rolls for the pressing with the two dummy sheets for the pressing respectively mounted to both sides of the dummy sheet beforehand. Next, the thin plate shape cast slab to be discharged at a place immediately beneath the cooling drums is clamped. Then, the continuous casting is started. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
