PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily confirm whether or not powder such as toner is leaked from a seal member. SOLUTION: The powder storage device comprises: a housing 48 for storing powder like toner; a rotating member 56 which is freely rotatably supported by the housing 48 and has an agitating part 54 for agitating the powder stored in the housing 48; a seal member 84 interposed between the rotating member 56 and the housing 48; and a detection part 86 for detecting whether the powder in the housing 48 is leaked from the seal member 84 or not.
