PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature in which teeth of an armature core facing each other while being spaced apart at 180°can be excited uniformly and the occurrence of uneven rotation, vibration and noise in the armature can be reduced surely. SOLUTION: In the armature having a commutator composed of twenty two segments where an armature winding is composed of a pair of first and second armature coils, the first armature coil is connected with the first segment of the commutator and wound sequentially and alternately by short-alpha winding and long-alpha winding while surrounding the teeth of the armature core, and the second armature coil is connected with the twelfth segment of the commutator and wound sequentially and alternately by short-alpha winding and long-alpha winding while surrounding the teeth of the armature core.
