The automatic machine draws paper e.g. from reels (1a-c) cuts it into sheets, folds each sheet into two and houses each alternately inverted folded sheet into its neighbours, being used to produce interfolded sheets e.g. hand towels. Motor rollers (5a-c) feed two single or double strips (2a,2b) over return gullies (3) and via roller presses (4) to cutting rollers (6) with output rollers (9) both of a hollow perforated type connected to a vacuum source. Oscillating fingers (10a,10b) take cut lengths and fold them into two whilst reciprocating fingers (11a,11b) with a rectangular trajectory house successive folded length into one another, the connected lengths or sheets being stacked on a table (12a,12b) on a screw (14a) mounted on a ram (16)-actuated slide (15). One table is in use whilst the other moves aside for unloading and both tables drop a fraction as each sheet is added.
|
