PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device wherein a direction finding is performed easily and with a high accuracy. SOLUTION: The direction finding device 100 measures the direction of a device body 120 in a three dimension space defined by an X-axis indicating magnetic north on a horizontal plane 210, a Y-axis orthogonal to the X-axis in the horizontal plane 210, and a Z-axis orthogonal to the horizontal plane 210. The direction finding device 100 comprises: an x-axis direction terrestrial magnetism amount detector 311 which detects the terrestrial magnetism amount in the x-axis direction to which the device body 120 points; an x-axis tilt angle detector 321 which detects an x-axis tilt angleβg between the horizontal plane 210 and the x-axis; a rotation angle decision part 331 in which the x-axis tilt angleβg detected by the x-axis tilt angle detector 321 is decided to a rotation angleβwhen the x-axis is rotated around the Y-axis and is made a rotational transfer to the horizontal plane 210; and a direction angle calculator 304 in which a direction angleθof the device body 120 is calculated based on the terrestrial magnetism amount detected by the x-axis direction terrestrial magnetism amount detector 311 and the rotation angleβdecided by the rotation angle decision part 331.
