<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner allowing humidifying operation without supply water and having increased sanitary property. <P>SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises an indoor unit 1 having a heat exchanger 6 and an indoor air blow fan 7 disposed in an air passage connecting an inlet port to an outlet port and having an insert port drilled in the rear face side oppositely to the air passage, an outdoor unit 2 having an inlet port 9 on the rear face side and an outlet port 10 on the front face side and an outdoor heat exchanger 12 and an outdoor air blow fan 13 driven by a fan motor 14, and a duct 17 connecting the outdoor unit 2 to the air passage of the indoor unit 1.
