PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a rotation stopper for a rocker-arm shaft of a valve system of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In the valve system of the internal combustion engine, a pair of rocker-arm shafts 26 are spaced from and disposed in parallel with each other in a cylinder head 4 of the internal combustion engine, and the pair of the rocker arm respectively connecting intake/exhaust cams with intake/exhaust valves are rockably supported by the rocker-arm shafts 26. In the rotation stopper for the rocker-arm shaft, cutout parts 26a facing each other are formed in a part of each of the pair of rocker-arm shafts 26, a regulation member 40 having an inclined cross-sectional surface seen from a camshaft direction is inserted between the cutout parts 26a, and the regulation member 40 is pressed by an inner face of a cylinder head cover 5.
