PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll having superior corrosion resistance when immersed in a liquid tank without causing cracking or breakage even when thermal stress acts between a ceramics cylindrical body forming the surface of the roll and a metal shaft. SOLUTION: The roll 1 comprises the ceramics cylindrical body 6 having a through-hole 6a in the axial direction and the metal shaft 2 bonded thereto. The shaft 2 has a fitting portion 2a fixed to the cylindrical body 6 and a supporting portion 2b connected to the fitting portion 2a. The ratio of the thermal expansion coefficient of the fitting portion 2a to the thermal expansion coefficient of the cylindrical body 6 is a range of 0.5-1.55. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
