PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot-dip galvanized steel sheet having a superior appearance, particularly feathery crystal spangles and a clear spangle appearance on the surface of the galvanized steel sheet, and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: In a hot-dip galvanized steel sheet having the spangle mainly consisting of the feathery crystals grown on the surface of the steel sheet, by immersing a steel sheet in a hot-dip galvanized bath containing, by mass%, 0.10-0.6% Al, 0.03-0.3% Bi and the balance Zn with unavoidable impurities, the hot-dip galvanized steel sheet with the superior appearance has an average spangle diameter of the feathery crystal spangles in a size of 5 to 50 mm.
