<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image collation device requiring only one image for one person as the image for database registration, while achieving high collation performance. <P>SOLUTION: Two face images to be collated, coordinate positions of face characterizing points and orientations of the faces are entered by an input image signal 110 and a reference image signal 111 into image conversion means 10. The image conversion means 10 uses a standard face solid form model supplied by a shape model signal 112 to generate a partial image of a face having the orientation of a reference image for the input image, and to cut out the same portion as the input image for the reference image. Image collation means 11 collates the face portion images entered from the image conversion means 10 and person determination means 12 uses the collation result obtained in the image collation means 11 to determine if the objects of the images to be collated are identical or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
