PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make gelation without ultraviolet ray irradiation especially in forming a gel electrolyte layer and further without using a polymerization initiator which produces a gas by introducing a structure which suppresses a change in composition of the gel electrolyte layer to the utmost into an electrodeposition picture display device. SOLUTION: In the electrodeposition picture display device 10 in which a first substrate 2 with a first electrode 1 formed on a surface thereof and a transparent second substrate 4 with a transparent second electrode 3 formed on a surface thereof are disposed so as to place the first electrode 1 and the second electrode 3 opposite to each other, the gel electrolyte layer 5 is disposed between the first electrode 1 and the second electrode 3 and a seal part 6 is disposed between the first substrate 2 and the second substrate 4 and on the periphery of the gel electrolyte layer 5, a space S is disposed between the gel electrolyte layer 5 and the seal part 6 so as not to bring them into contact with each other.
