PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection device having a servo timer mechanism and a load timer mechanism with reverse-advancing characteristics, and to prevent the generation of erosion. SOLUTION: The load timer mechanism has an escape passage 76 formed in a governor shaft 45 and communicated with the lower pressure side of fuel, and a through-hole 77 formed in a governor sleeve 46 and shut off/communicated with the escape passage 76 when the sleeve 46 is moved forwards/backwards. The timer mechanism 24 has a fuel passage 62 formed in a timer piston 51, communicated with a servo valve insertion hole 61a and a high pressure chamber 54 and opened to the insertion hole 61a, and a servo valve 60 freely slidable in the hole 61a. The servo valve 60 has a discharge passage 65 capable of being communicated with/shut off from the fuel passage 62 according to the pressure change in the fuel of a pump chamber, and the discharge passage 65 has a control valve 66 closed when the fuel flowed in is at almost atmospheric pressure or less.
