PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article sorting system capable of surely and precisely sorting articles by correctively inputting the information corresponding to the articles to be sorted and conveying the articles again toward a sorting process even if the information reading from these articles is not regularly performed. SOLUTION: The image information on the conveyance articles 12 loaded on en endless conveyor 11 is inputted to an image information input device 13 and the information put on their surfaces is read. Based on the read information, the corresponding sorting section among a plurality of the sorting sections 17 disposed in a conveyance portion of the conveyor 11 is actuated to sort the conveyance article 12 to a prescribed sorting destination 18. When the reading of the information by the image information input device 13 is decided to be defective by an information check means 14 at this time, the image information on the read defective article is displayed on a correction input section 26 to correct and input the regular information. This article is conveyed by the endless conveyor 11 to the sorting section 17 corresponding to the reinputted information and therefore the sorting of the articles to the prescribed sorting destinations is made possible.
