<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing bioactive material by equally and efficiently coating at least the surface of a base material of any shape of organic polymer as a main component with a nano size apatite which is bioactive on a mild condition without requiring any special pretreatment operation such as treatment with a silane coupling agent. <P>SOLUTION: After bringing the base material into contact with a solution containing organoalkoxysilane SiR'<SB>n</SB>(OR)<SB>4-n</SB>and calcium ions, the base material is brought into contact with an aqueous solution containing calcium ions and phosphoric acid ions to form a bioactive apatite coating layer on the base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
