<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a simple and inexpensive constitution for optimizing specified set items for imparting a sound effect, e.g. tone boost, depending on the volume level in a sound reproducing apparatus having a mechanical volume performing volume control. <P>SOLUTION: A DC voltage component is superposed on a voice signal being outputted through a mechanical volume, i.e. a variable resistor. Only the DC voltage component is then extracted by removing the voice signal component from the voice signal outputted from the variable resistor while being superposed with the DC voltage component. Subsequently, voltage level of the extracted DC voltage component is detected and the resistance of the variable resistor, and thereby the volume level, is detected. Thereafter, specified set items are controlled depending on the detected voltage level for a signal processing operation imparting a sound effect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
