<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of correcting the change of the current-voltage characteristic of a current-driven light emitting element over aging in a simple circuit constitution. <P>SOLUTION: This display device has a pixel circuit 26 formed so that the value of the output current of an active element 18 is set with a current supplied from a source wire Sj, and is configured to supply a current from a 2nd current source circuit 24 (for current program) to the source wire Sj. The 2nd current source circuit 24 has circuit constitution for voltage control and current output, so the anode-cathode voltage obtained when a constant current is supplied from a 1st current source circuit 23 to an organic EL element 22 is used as the control voltage for the 2nd current source circuit 24, thereby making corrections so that a larger current value is generated as the characteristics of the organic EL element 22 change over aging. Consequently, the variance (sticking phenomenon) in luminance of a light emitting element and the decrease in display luminance can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
