PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate maintenance of software required for various kinds of service by enhancing operability. SOLUTION: The software according to a user's request is downloaded to a portable intelligent remote control unit 10 through a cable box 1 via a cable network of two-way communication. Since only the requested software is only transferred to a user's terminal, a cost of the terminal becomes minimum. In addition, this personal digital assistance system is used for home shopping and its center side may be used also as a storage device of capacity by uploading data from the portable intelligent remote terminal unit 10 to the cable network.
