The tree stake which has a lower end section (2) for anchoring in the ground and an upper end section (6) for supporting the tree is made from a non-biodegradable material such as plastics, more particularly recycled plastics. The stake has a circular or polygonal cross-section. The lower end section is solid whilst the upper end section can be hollow.
