PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an endless belt of a polyimide resin, in which the belt can easily be pulled off after film formation, a film thickness of the belt is uniform and broad characteristics to be required can be fulfilled, and also to provide an endless belt of a polyimide resin having a smooth inner surface, which is produced by the method. SOLUTION: The method includes a process for formation of a polyimide resin precursor film comprising holding a substrate for the endless belt under a cylindrical shape without deformation and applying a precursor solution of the polyimide resin on the surface of the endless belt, a process for formation of a polyimide resin film comprising drying and reacting under heating the polyimide resin precursor film to give a polyimide resin film, and a process for peeling the polyimide resin film comprising peeling the polyimide resin film from the substrate of the endless belt.
