PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide digital image processing technology capable of attaining high speed processing. SOLUTION: A gradation expressing method of digital image processing includes: a step (a) of preparing a threshold value matrix; a step (b) of setting a unit block corresponding to one input pixel in advance; a step (c) of preparing a sequence table in advance for indicating positions of a plurality of threshold values in the unit block in orders of higher threshold values; and a step (d) of using the threshold value matrix to generate an output pixel value on the basis of the received input pixel value, and the step (d) includes: a step (i): of sequentially selecting the threshold value according to the sequence table and comparing the output pixel value with the input pixel value to sequentially decide the output pixel value; and a step (ii) of setting an identical value without performing the comparison when the result of comparison in the step (i) indicates that the output pixel values are different.
