PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery case having a surface treatment layer low in internal resistance in an interior face of the battery case, and having a surface treatment layer high in quality and superior in continuous molding characteristics on an exterior face of the battery case. SOLUTION: The battery case has a nickel-phosphorus alloy layer with a phosphorus content of 0.1 to 1.0 wt% formed on the inner face. Furthermore, a surface treatment steel plate for the battery case has the nickel-phosphorus alloy layer formed on a face to be the inner face side of the battery case. The battery uses the battery case, and fills a positive electrode side active material and a negative electrode side active material in an inside of this battery case. Furthermore, in a manufacturing method of the surface treatment steel plate for the battery case, a nickel-phosphorus alloy plating is applied on the face to be the case inner face side.
