PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly move each segment die in an unclamped condition without scuffing, and to perform advancement/retraction of a blade tip during clamping/unclamping in the same manner. SOLUTION: In a bending apparatus 1, a top die comprises a large number of segment dies (for example, L1) which are provided beneath a vertically movable upper frame 13 so as to move right and left in a longitudinal direction. Each segment die is guided by dovetail groove mechanisms 51 and 59 provided on a lower portion of the upper frame 13, and switched in a clamping/unclamping manner to/from the dovetail groove mechanisms 51 and 59. When each segment die is moved in an unclamped condition, each segment die is smoothly moved by the rolling motion of straight motion guide mechanisms 67 and 77 provided on the dovetail groove mechanisms 51 and 59. When each segment die is fixed to a lower portion of the upper frame 13, it is clamped to the dovetail groove mechanisms 51 and 59, and thus the advancing/retracting condition of a blade tip in the clamping mode is substantially similar to that in the unclamping mode, so that the blade tip can be easily adjusted.
