PURPOSE: A device for compensating for color coordinates in an LCD projector is provided to use statistics or a method for detecting substantial changes in an image to compensate for abnormal color coordinates caused by changes of optical transmissivity, thereby maintaining uniform image quality. CONSTITUTION: A blue LCD(22), a red LCD(23), and a green LCD(24) are comprised. A driver(21) drives the blue, red, and green LCDs(22,23,24) according to an input signal. A projection lens(25) projects outputs of the blue, red, and green LCDs(22,23,24) on a screen. A color coordinate compensator(26) generates a calibrating constant in accordance with usage time of an LCD projector and an optical transmissivity inclination value of the blue LCD(22), and outputs the generated calibrating constant. An operator(27) operates the output of the color coordinate compensator(26) to red and green signals, and inputs compensated red and green signals to the driver(21).
