<p>PURPOSE: A reflective illumination optical system is provided to reflect RGB signals without the RGB signals transmitting film-type PBSs(Polarized Beam Splitters), so that the reflected RGB signals can be incident on a projection lens, thereby suppressing the generation of astigmatism and increasing illumination efficiency. CONSTITUTION: The first dichroic mirror(32a) receives a light irradiated from a lamp(31) to transmit a blue light, and reflects green and red lights to separate into two paths. The second dichroic mirror(32b) transmits the red light by receiving the separated lights, and reflects the green light. The first, second, and third film-type PBSs(34a-34c) transmit the separated RGB lights, respectively. The first, second, and third LCoS panels(35a-35c) reflect the transmitted lights by changing phases, respectively. An X-prism(36) synthesizes the RGB lights, so that the RGB lights can be incident on a projection lens(38).</p> |
