METHOD FOR COMMON AUTHENTICATION AND AUTHORIZATION ACROSS INDEPENDENT NETWORKS HAVING DISPARATE ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES

PURPOSE: A method for common authentication and authorization across independent networks having disparate access technologies is provided to perform the seamless user transition between networks by providing the authentication and the authorization common to the independent networks. CONSTITUTION: A method of providing authentication and authorization common to at least two independent networks(130,150) includes a receiving process and a verifying process. The receiving process is performed to receive a set of the authentication and the authorization credentials from a user attempting to gain access to either one of the at least two networks. The verifying process is performed to verify the set of the authentication and the authorization credentials to access another of the at least two networks by using a subscriber database of one of two independent access networks.
