PURPOSE: A bias boosting circuit of an electroluminescent(EL) element is provided to prevent an excessive voltage from being supplied and to provide an appropriate time required in a necessary boosting. CONSTITUTION: A cascode current mirror(20) is constituted with a plurality of MOS transistors formed in a current mirror structure. A bias circuit unit(10) applies a bias voltage to the cascode current mirror. And a boosting circuit unit(30) is connected between the bias circuit unit and the cascode current mirror, and compares a cascode current mirror output voltage with a reference voltage to boost a voltage supplied to an initial diode by a predetermined level.
