PURPOSE: A screw decanter is provided to widen an Y-shaped passage through displacement of a wedge shaped cap to a sludge outlet, enabling selective variation of sludge properties and operation conditions. CONSTITUTION: In a conical screw decanter, a cylinder of the screw decanter and compression and dry regions of a screw are formed into a bottle neck portion, so that its cross sectional shape takes a Y-shaped form corresponding to a combined cone and drum type screw. A separation region and the compression region of the screw takes the form of the combined cone and drum type screw to conform to an inclined end of the cylinder. |
