PURPOSE: Provided are a device and a method for identifying the marking position of a section steel, using a structural light, which reduce the marking error rate by identifying the position of a section steel and by correcting it to the accurate marking point, and to move the section steel, using the identified position thereof, so as to be located in the accurate marking point. CONSTITUTION: The device includes; a CCD camera(2), directing toward the section steel and obtaining an image thereof; four line lasers(3), arranged on four sides of the CCD camera(2) and projecting a scanning light on the corresponding marking surface of the section steel; a computer, analyzing the image of the section steel, which is obtained by the scanning light projected by the CCD camera(2), and calculating the error value between the central coordinates of the CCD camera(2) and the section steel; and a section steel feeding device, moving the section steel in all directions.
