<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blue colored composition for color filter capable of adjusting white to the objective color temperature by adjusting the brightness value of blue without changing chromaticities of three colors, and to provide a color filter formed by using the composition. <P>SOLUTION: The blue colored composition for color filter contains a coloring matter carrier comprising transparent resin, its precursor or a mixture of them and blue coloring matter dispersed into the coloring matter carrier and yellow coloring matter or black coloring matter of 0.01-10 wt.% on the basis of the whole amount of the coloring matter, or the blue coloring matter and red coloring matter of 0.01-30 wt.% on the basis of the whole amount of the coloring matter. Further, the color filter is provided with at least one red filter segment, at least one green filter segment and at least one blue filter segment.
