PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a string roof frame safe even if external force is applied to the string roof frame and offsetting thrust generated to a column from a roof. SOLUTION: An outer peripheral frame 4 is formed as an approximately quadrangular frame, and a keel 5 forms one diagonal line, while a tension member 7 forms the other diagonal line. An inner peripheral frame 6 is disposed inside the outer peripheral frame 4 so that the tension member 7 forms one diagonal line and that a part of the keel 5 forms the other diagonal line. Strut members 8 connect joint parts of the inner peripheral frame 6 and keel 5 to the center part of the tension member 7. In the string roof frame 1, the outer peripheral frame 4 has a three-dimensional structure with the keel 5 as the top. When any force is applied, the external force is applied to each of the outer peripheral frame 4, the inner peripheral frame 6 and the keel 5, and each member shows deforming behavior. However, with the deforming behavior of each member, the tension member 7 and the strut member 8 function to mutually keep balance.
