<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical expense defraying amount calculation system and a medical expense defraying amount calculation method capable of rapidly and easily providing effective information related to medical settlement to an insured person, a medical organization, an insurance underwriter and the like, and of improving a problem area relating to the medical settlement. <P>SOLUTION: This application is used for providing, to a calculation agency, information for obtaining the defraying amount defrayed by a defrayer or a predetermined patient himself or herself defraying at least part of the medical expense to a medical action applied to the predetermined patient in a medical organization. The calculation agency receives patient information and medical action information from the medical organization via a communication line, and obtains information with the defrayer related to a defraying ratio for the defrayer to defray a part of the medical expense according to a variety of medical actions, and the defraying amount defrayed by the defrayer or the predetermined patient or information for calculating the defraying amount based on the received patient information and the medical action information.
