PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dielectric breakdown caused by a particle substance in a vacuum valve, in particular, to enhance breaking performance and a withstand voltage characteristic of a high-voltage vacuum circuit breaker, and to enhance reliability thereof. SOLUTION: This vacuum valve 1 is equipped with: a vacuum vessel 2 with its inside brought into a vacuum state; a pair of electrode rods 20 and 21 penetrating ends of the vacuum vessel; a pair of electrodes 22 and 23 respectively fixed to the electrode rods and capable of contacting to and separating from each other; and an arc shield 30 disposed in the vacuum vessel by surrounding the electrodes. The arc shield is formed into a double structure composed of a cylindrical plate shield 31 formed of a cylindrical plate and a net shield 32 connected to the cylindrical plate shield and disposed inside the cylindrical plate shield.
