PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which secures satisfactory visibility and has enhanced weatherability, light fastness, stability when voltage is applied and the like. SOLUTION: In the display device 10, microcapsules 14 respectively containing a plurality of particle bodies 13 are provided between two conductive electrodes 12a and 12b provided on the opposed surfaces of substrates 11a and 11b disposed opposite to each other. An insulating solution in which fullerenes as coloring matters are dissolved is encapsulated in the microcapsules 14 and the particle bodies 13 are suspended in the solution. The display device 10 performs display by difference in reflectance by variation of spatial distribution generated by movement of a plurality of the particle bodies 13 in the insulating solution by the function of e.g. an electric field.
