PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction sheet separation method and device of a sheet body capable of carrying out processing in the shortest period of time without useless stand-by time at the time of sucking and separating the sheet body on the top layer out of a plurality of the accumulated sheet bodies. SOLUTION: The suction sheet separation method of the sheet body sucks and lifts the sheet bodies accumulated in a cassette with a sucking board, immediately starts sucking and lifting motion 1 of the sucking board at a point of time when sucking negative pressure of the sucking board reaches first negative pressure free to move to suck and lift the sheet body at the time of separating this sheet body from the other sheets on a lower layer into a single sheet and thereafter, starts sheet separating motion 2 of the sucking board at a point of time when the sucking negative pressure of the sucking board reaches second negative pressure enabling the sheet separation motion. That is, the suction and lifting motion of the sucking board is immediately carried out without delay until the sucking negative pressure reaches the pressure (second negative pressure) required for the sheet separating motion and never causes the useless stand-by time.
