PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of preventing an occupant from feeling uncomfortable due to a change in atmospheric pressure in a cabin. SOLUTION: When the atmospheric pressure in the cabin detected by an inside atmospheric pressure sensor 40 is changed by not less than a prescribed value within prescribed time, a control device 100 blocks off an outside air introducing passage of an air-conditioning unit 20 and an inside air exhaust passage of an exhaust unit 30 to have the inside of the cabin in an airtight state with respect to the outside of the cabin and prevent fluctuation of the atmospheric pressure in the cabin. After the prescribed time elapses, the both passages are gradually opened and the atmospheric pressure in the cabin is matched with the atmospheric pressure outside the cabin without drastically changing the atmospheric pressure in the cabin. Accordingly, the occupant can be prevented from feeling uncomfortable due to a feeling of ears being plugged up or the like. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
