PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crop stalk-cutting machine for cutting the stalks of crops such as tobacco, having a compact body structure enabling a small turn to be easily made and having good balance, enabling the stalk-cut crops to be taken up by an operator walking so as to follow the machine body, enabling even a hard stem such as the stem of the tobacco plant to be easily reaped, and reducing the loss of power and unblanced weight of the machine body as much as possible. SOLUTION: A nipping and conveying device 5 for nipping and conveying the stem T of the crop rearward based on the machine body, and a cutting device 6 for cutting the base part side of the stem T of the crop are installed in the four-wheeled traveling machine body 3 having a handle 4 for steering by walking at the rear part, and the nipping and conveying device 5 is installed so that the nipping and conveying terminal end part 5E is positioned at the rear side of the front end position of rear wheels. A first engine 7 for driving the right and left rear wheels 2 and 2 is installed in the rear side of the machine body from the position of the rear wheel shaft, and a second engine 36 for driving the cutting device 6 is installed in the front side of the machine body from the position of the rear wheel.
