<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a composite polymer membrane suitable for a separation membrane, which is improved in gas selectivity and excels in all of heat resistance, weatherability, chemical resistance, or the like, and gas separation performance or a carbon membrane formed by heat treating the composite polymer membrane further at a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the composite polymer membrane comprises immersing a polymer membrane into supercritical carbon dioxide in which an organic metal compound is dissolved to carry the organic metal compound on the membrane, then performing the decomposition of the organic metal compound to form fine metallic superfine particles or metal oxide superfine particles in the membrane. The method for manufacturing the carbon membrane comprises heat treating the composite polymer membrane further at the high temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
