<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display images without waiting the reception of the whole images. <P>SOLUTION: Facsimile equipment receiving compressed data decodes (S303) the received compressed image data in each reception of data of fixed volume (S302-Y), varies the magnification of the decoded image data to a preview image size and writes the image data of the preview image size in a preview buffer (S304). The variable magnification image data stored in the preview buffer are copied to a VRAM for storing display data and then displayed on a display part.
