MULTICAST COMMUNICATION METHOD, ROUTER APPARATUS FOR MULTICAST COMMUNICATION, AND PROGRAM FOR MULTICAST COMMUNICATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in processing load imposed on a multicast communication apparatus even on the occurrence of many participation / retire requests from a reception host side.

SOLUTION: The router apparatus 11 includes: steps (refer to steps S9, S10) of receiving a plurality of request data representing participation requests to a multicast group transmitted from a plurality of hosts not taking part in the multicast group and confirming the frequency of a plurality of the received request data; steps (refer to steps S11, S12) of aborting at least part of a plurality of the request data in response to the confirmed frequency of a plurality of the request data; and a step (refer to a step S13) of receiving the remaining request data except the aborted request data and registering participation of the reception host corresponding to the accepted request data to a prescribed multicast group when the received request data indicate participation requests.
